Shore Power Systems
Shore power is where the vessel meets the dock, and where most heat damage starts. We service inlets, cordsets, isolation and conversion equipment, transfer gear and the protection behind it — with Magnus shore power systems as our preferred solution.

What's included
Prism Marine Electric provides shore power systems for yachts, superyachts and sportfish vessels in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade County — dockside, at anchor or during a yard period. Licensed, insured and available 24/7, with worldwide travel for vessels under our care.
- Shore power inlet and cordset replacement
- Magnus shore power system supply and installation
- 50Hz/60Hz and voltage conversion equipment support
- Isolation transformer and galvanic isolator work
- Automatic and manual transfer switch service
- Dockside supply verification and load balancing
Our method
Burned inlets, melted cordsets and nuisance tripping almost always come down to a loose or corroded termination carrying full load. We thermal-scan the connection under load, rebuild it correctly and verify the protection ahead of it is rated for the supply.
For vessels moving between docks and countries, we specify conversion and isolation equipment that matches the vessel's real load profile rather than the nameplate — so the boat runs on any pedestal it ties up to.
Signs it's time to call
- Hot, discolored or melted shore power inlet
- Cordset that trips the pedestal breaker
- Power dropping when transferring to shore
- Moving to a dock with a different supply
