Superyacht lifted in a travel lift on haul-out at a South Florida shipyard for class survey work
Marine electrical service

Class Survey Support (5, 10, 15 & 20-Year+)

Class surveys carry a long electrical scope: insulation resistance testing, hull potential and bonding checks, protection settings, emergency systems, labeling and documentation. We prepare the vessel ahead of every periodical survey — 5-year, 10-year, 15-year and 20-year-plus — attend with the surveyor and close out electrical findings quickly.

How we approach it

Our method

Roughly 90% of our work is general maintenance and class survey work. The cheapest survey is the one you prepare for: we walk the vessel weeks ahead, find what a surveyor will find, and give the captain a prioritized list with real hours and parts attached.

During the survey we're on board to answer for the electrical systems, and afterwards we close findings with documentation the class society will accept. We're also brought in by larger surveying firms to cover the electrical portion of a broader survey, and by vessels who need another surveyor's punch list actually repaired.

Signs it's time to call

  • 5, 10, 15 or 20-year periodical survey coming due
  • Outstanding electrical findings from the last survey
  • A surveyor's punch list needing electrical repairs
  • Missing or outdated electrical documentation
  • Undocumented modifications since build
