Grounding, Bonding, Hull Potential & Corrosion
Stray current and grounding faults eat metal fast. We carry out hull potential surveys, trace ground faults, verify bonding systems and correct the wiring causing galvanic and electrolytic corrosion.

What's included
Prism Marine Electric provides grounding, bonding, hull potential & corrosion for yachts, superyachts and sportfish vessels in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade County — dockside, at anchor or during a yard period. Licensed, insured and available 24/7, with worldwide travel for vessels under our care.
- Hull potential survey and reference cell readings
- Ground fault detection and tracing
- Bonding system inspection, repair and continuity testing
- Galvanic isolator and isolation transformer verification
- Anode assessment and stray current source isolation
- Insulation resistance testing across AC and DC systems
- Documented findings and remediation plan
Our method
We survey the vessel's hull potential against a reference, then isolate circuits one by one until the leakage source is identified — whether it's a wet junction, a failed submersible pump or a neighboring vessel on the same dock.
Findings are documented with readings so you can show a surveyor, insurer or yard exactly what was wrong and what was corrected.
Signs it's time to call
- Anodes disappearing faster than normal
- Pitting on shafts, props, trim tabs or through-hulls
- Ground fault or isolation alarm active
- Corrosion appearing after a dock or refit change
